Blaze rally past Bruins 35-27

Blaze 35, Bruins 27

Game Notes (or looking at the glass half full)

An individual accomplishment that needs recognition, Jeremy Coffey now holds the single season rushing record for Brentwood. His 120 yards give him a season total of 1,333 eclipsing Jock Weisner's mark of 1250 yards that dates back to 1998. This puts Jeremy in the group of all time Bruin greats like Weisner, Dave Puncochar, Jared Fugate and Glaydon Lifsey.

Give the Bruins an E for effort and an H for heart. Despite the unfortunate events of the final 8 minutes, the team kept fighting right up to the end and had a realistic chance to tie it up on the final play.

This is the best defense the Bruins have seen since Oakland in week 4. The Blaze had only given up 41 points until Brentwood lit them up for 27 tonight.

As disappointing as this loss is, it has no affect on the on the all-important district standings. The Bruins are in complete control of their destiny. With a win over Franklin next week the District 11 title is theirs and with it home field advantage for at least the first round of the playoffs.
