Bruins 45, Cougars 13Posted Friday, October 02, 2009 by Marty Morris ![]() BRUINS 45, COUGARS 13 GAME NOTES: Jeremy Coffey continues to fill up the record books this year. Josh Killet broke the long-standing record for longest TD run when he rushed for a 94-yard score against Indy on 9/4. That record stood less than less than 4 weeks as last night Jeremy hit the left side of the line, broke a tackle then sailed down the left side line for 98-yards, the TD and the record. Jeremy now has 1137 yards for the season and is one of the top running backs in the state! Don't feel too bad for Josh. His hard work on defense has resulted in 43 tackles and a team leading 3 sacks. Also, his 3 carries on offense have covered 147 yards for a ridiculous 49 yard/carry average (thanks to a 50-yarder last night that was one ankle tackle away from his second TD of the seaon). The great news about Josh is he's just a Junior so he'll be contributing for another year! It was good to see Roman Mitchell continue to get more work after an injury slowed him earlier in the year. He picked up his first TD of the season on a 17-yard blast in the third quarter. He provides another weapon for the arsenal as the run for the playoffs continues. Senior Aaron Barfoot made the most of his first 2 catches of the year by scoring his first TD. The first strike from Clay Webber went for 43 yards and moved the Bruins deep into Centennial territory. Aaron then pulled in another strike from Clay and headed down the left side to the goal line leaving crumpled Cougars in his wake. Great work young man. It's generally accepted that pound for pound there's no one tougher on this team than Chris Hoop. His hard work was rewarded last night when he was credited with 6 tackles to tie Jacob Norfleet for most tackles. Hoop's #43 was all over the field and Jacob was in the Cougar QB's rear view mirror all night. Now it's time to rest and get healthy for the next 15 days as the team gets ready for a Homecoming contest against Hillsboro on 10/16 at James C. Parker Stadium.
